Confusion about the difference between SIP trunking and VoIP ..... how they relate and what is different? Simple lay in the practical conditions such s the answer to this .....

1. Voice over IP VoIP is a general term used to cover all voice traffic over Internet protocol.

2. SIP trunking is the only voice over IP, using my SIP protocol gnaling, but instead of a user using a SIP provider to many. Basically if T1E1 link ... but using VoIP and some sticks.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application-layer control (I gnaling) protocol creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. Can be used to make two members, Multiparty, or sessions that include Internet telephone calls multicast, Multimedia distribution, and Multimedia meetings.

Voice of Internet Protocol on top, also called VoIP, IP telephony, Internet telephony, Broadband telephony, Broadband Phone and Voice over Broadband is the routing voice conversations over the Internet or through other IP-based networks.

SIP in some cases is the type of VoIP ...

Because SIP is the Session Initiation Protocol, and is the type of VOIP ..... used as a digital voice emulator / PRI replacment.

Offer VOIP service capacity, such as DID's (Direct Dial number) about the benefits of these services on a commercial level is the ability to avoid buying the PRI card (under the road - not present in all events) and just plug the same phone system.

Basically, the power of the PRI without the cost or limitations. SIP is only limited by your bandwidth, and the airlines will come with a fairly attractive option.

This will be a lot of areas need to become more familiar with, especially in the call center world.
